Výskum ukazuje, že orechy zohrávajú dôležitú úlohu pri prevencii cukrovky typu 2, pri lepšom zvládaní existujúcej cukrovky, prevencii alebo znížení progresie a komplikácií súvisiacich s cukrovkou. Orechy majú anti-diabetický účinok. Posledné štúdie ukázali, že ženy konzumujúce orechy 5-krát týždenne (1 dávka cca 30 g), majú o 27% nižšie riziko vzniku cukrovky 2.typu.
Každodenná konzumácia orechov napomáha kompenzácii cukrovky a je prevenciou jej komplikácii. Príjem cca 56 g orechov denne ako náhrada za sacharidy (cukry) poskytuje diabetikom 2. typu efektívnu kontrolu glykémie a krvných tukov. Orechy pomáhajú regulovať hladinu glukózy a lipidov v krvi. Môžu byť preto využité ako súčasť stratégie pre zlepšenie regulácie diabetu. Ako orechy pomáhajú zvládať cukrovku?
